Why would a company choose to recruit a junior, when with the crisis there will be many seniors on the market?
In reality there is no end… There are only new beginnings.
In view of the new challenges imposed by the age pyramid, companies will eventually have to review their work organization and their human resources management methods. This is what the experts have pompously called : active age and skills management.
A young graduate asked me a very pertinent question : Why would a company choose to recruit a junior, when with the crisis there will be many seniors on the market?
Indeed his remark is right and naturally one could think that young graduates will have more difficulties in this period of crisis to find their first job.
And yet, after reflection, more experienced employees are certainly sought after for their experience and their rapid adaptability to a position, but faced with the changes that the company is going through, many managers are expressing their difficulty in managing them.
The resistance to change of senior or young senior employees is certainly the most complicated point to manage, as well as their poor adaptation to the company’s constant technological evolution.
